So, apparently I only like to blog when I have a Straight Grain pattern to sew from. That’s okay with me, because 1) I’m kind of over blogging and 2) An’s patterns are officially my favorite. Sorry, other pattern designer friends. These patterns fit my girl really well and have a distinctive style that still allows for a million ways to make it your own. Sold. So, here’s my Jaanu Dress. I’ve got a million photos, so I’ll get the words out of the way first. Love this pattern, hated working with this fabric. It’s a cotton velveteen and BOY was it hard to use with this pattern (the Norah version of the Jaanu, by the way…). It was simply too thick. It was hard to match across seams. It was hard to run through my serger. It was just HARD. I don’t think I’ve spent so much time (probably three hours of sewing) on one garment in a very long time. However, it was worth the work. My Jaanu is exactly how I envisioned and BONUS! Emerson loves it too. I think her favorite part is the way it feels when she pets it. Hehe.
Seriously, fantastic pattern, An! Thank you so much for having me on your tour! Now please enjoy one million photos of my girl. She got a haircut!!
PS I made the shoes and the crown (which is now available in my shop!).
I don’t know what is happening here….
